After posting the post below, alot of people texted me to tell me how much they hate "her" or well..."the both of them". Well well, what can I say? Sing Dollar!

Went to watch Sing Dollar! yesterday at Esplanade. Although I did not sit with the rest of my classmates, my $81 was worth it(: This musical comedy directed by Selena Tan and Zahim Albakri, addresses our recent global financial crisis that has force a lot of Singaporeans to go to extremes in order to get by and then one day, a bag of S$500, 000 appears out of nowhere together with a dead man.

Selena Tan(Tiger beer aunty, Tiger Lily), Emma Yong(China prostitute, Lan Lan), Pam Oei(Filipino Maid by day, prostitute by night, Gloria), Kumar(Bangladeshi cleaner, Syed), Lim Kay Siu(Compulsive gambler, Mr. Siong), Sebastian Tan(Beef hor fun hawker, Valentino), Hossan Leong(retrenched banker, Soon Huat) and Najip Ali(Cleaning makcik, Sa'adiah) are, as listed, are people with financial issues who are living in Singapore. When the money appears, they all want it for themselves, whether to get married, pay off debts, or migrate for a better life, they are determined to steal it and will not hear to sharing it with anymore people than they already have.

They are being tested and chased by each other, a witty comedy with the ugly truth of Singaporeans smeared all over it. I feel that Selena Tan and Zahim Albakri are geniuses of the stage, so up-to-date with our current affairs(the dirty affairs like a certain someone who owns a stallion, expensive cars and a property somewhere where the kangaroos hop and koalas hug) and of course, MJ's death. The musical was filled with hits and dance moves from MJ that is 'innovated' to Uniquely Singapore fashion. This comedy filled with the ugly truth allow me to see things in a different perspective, about Singapore and about our way of life. I love the part on White Collar Criminials, OH SO VERY MUCH.,

Kudos to the actors, who have put up such a fantastic performance, the ones behind the scene, the directors, everyone. This magnificent song and choreography and high standards of acting is one for ALL Singaporeans to look forward to watching.

This musical has definitely made me want to watch more of the local acts and scenes. Although there might be a twisted and hidden ideology about this musical that I have yet the capacity to fathom, I do get where they are coming from and I would, in fact, support the local arts and drama scene. I like it that they address such brutally honest issues, it really made me think hard, and deep. I would want to watch MORE of such plays. After all, what can be said on stage cannot be said over the radio or television...(;
